Today saw nothing but a messy slop today with the gusty SW-W winds and a small side of 4-5ft of swell on the bouy. However as i write this report the the swell is building for tomorrow and over the next few days. Size is looking good... Forcast:TuesdayThe current passing system is showing that we are now in January as its possitioning has shifted south of the usual winter swell paths trhus sending alot of sze our way. In my experence Spring time swells offer the best conditions here in North Wales so I'm again hoping for good things. The forcast for tuesday is looking big with 9-10ft on the llyen bouy and a chance of light NW winds durng the afternoon. The morning should be the last of the strong current spait of strong SW's. If you can get out early enough then head for the north shore for the low-incoming tide, otherwise check the wind speeds for middday and chodse from there as i mentioned tyhe shift to brisk WNW's thus will render the north shore a little messy. Obiviously cable will offer allround protection at high tide. however it IS cable. so thats always a downside WednesdayOvernight the winds will have swung back to a SW so it looks like the north shore will be the maion option for the day. High tide it about 4pm and the swell will have re-built to around 10-11ft so a midday-afternoon surf is best if heading to sands. ThursdayAgain a strong SW wind will rule Thursday. The swell however is due to drop off slightly to 8ft on the bouy so its on that boarderline as to weather the north shore spots will work or not. I'd hav to wait till nerarer the time untill I call it! Day reports will continue from tomorrow.

What a blessing, the swell is notonly bigger than anticipated (13ft on the bouy) but the winds have swung all the way round to a WNW for te day it seems. Ceriad is a possibility and a big enough for the shelters bays on angelsey to the north west of the island. Mouth is a blowout so don't bother there.

Today sees the expected drop in swell size which has resulted in grnearally crappy conditions as the current size isn't really pushing through the wind chop. Personally I wouldn't bother going out tody because of the strong and gusty WSW wind dominating again. If you must then Cable the only option for a slightly shelterd wave of around 3ft or perhaps the slab as the swells not big enough to be pushing into the more shelterd spots on Angelsey.
If the winds swing to more of a solid SW wind then the north shore spots should just be workng but don't expect much more then 2-3ft at the most.
Prospects for tomorrow look much the same but the afternoon should hold a solid SW wth just enough swll for the north shore of the llyen to be showing somthing. High tide is 3pm today or 4:30ish on anglesey.

Yet again we have a fair amount of size comming into the area but also yet again the bain of this continual Westerly flow of systems is producing strong and gusty SW and W winds. Today isn't big enough for the north shore to work (only 6ft on the bouy) even tho it would hold a wave in the current SW winds. So again I wouldn' bother headng out, Espacially as the tides are wrong for most spots at the moment. Aain if your desperate for a dip then I can only suggest the Slab or nobler for a less messy wave at the current low tide.
By the weekend the tide rotation will allow for high tide morning sessions just in time for what looks like the peek in the swell hights from the passig system. More than enough fo the North Shore spots to work with an expected 15-18ft on the offshore bouys.
I'll put out a weekend forcast eather tonight or with tomorrows report.

This monrning has brough a crazy day wth the SW winds peeking at 45mph out to sea. On the coast these are still just as strong and its almost a white out. With 12ft on the bouy and this SW wind there are a few possibilities. Corner of te mouth (but might not hold up in this wind) North Shore spots: Sands etc.. should be working and can hold a SW and as for angelsey well Cable but tides are wrong which leaves the spots to the north, Silver, Treauddar etc. for 3-4ft but by no means clean.
I'll Put out a forcast for Sat and Sunday by this evening once all the chart updtes are published..

Weekend Forcast:
Saturday
Thanks to what remains of the storms force gales we''ve experenced over the last week the seas are carring alot of size. Sat will see the remaing system and the west/southwest winds pass over us resulting in crappy conditions for the area however could hereld a north shore wave authough it will be cross shore. If you want to go out on Sat then head to the north shore but no promises. I'd expect to see atleast 3-4ft at sands. but check the tides as it tends to drop off at low.
Sunday
Looking promising in terms of making the best of a bad situation! The next anti-cyclone is approching from a more southerly direction. As it approches we shold see the current winds directions being pulled more southerly, and the swell remaing big and having collected a fair sized fetch giving a good period. If these winds do turn south then I'd recomend the corner of the Mouth, and the north shore spots if the winds and swell remain strong enough. I'll call it on the daily report.
Prospects for next week
Are looking better than I'd expected with the approaching system pushing through providing the swell but remaing tight enough to produce a selection of wind directions over the week with chanced or a NW wind and even the chance of a SE wind. Watch this space!!!

Sunday Update.
As expected the winds are swinging SW - S making for a north shore potential today. Swells a little smaller then expected between8-10ft on the south llyen bouy but this should wrap around. So eather north Shore today or The usual angelsey Spots, cable nobler etc.. which can hold a SSW.

Sos about lack of report this morning, I was knackerd and got up late for work so didn't have time. was messy all round with the winds shiftng west by the early afternoon again so if you didn't go out you didn't miss much! and prospects for Tuesday and there after... Tuesday:The winds are set to trun back to a SSW tomorrow with a little less force than we've seen over the last few days. The swells got a good period on it authough only 9-10ft it should present itself nicly on the north shore spots like it did on Sunday. i'd say around 2ft clean bigger at high tide for the sands. the other spots will vary accoring to how they work best (sorry but you have to find them your self as the internets a big voice in the terms of breaks.) I recomend that you get out early for high tide which is around 8-9am WednesdayFrom tha charts i'd say don't bother today. Authough the swells big, thats only because thoese gales force west winds are set to return again as two smaller system join to create another tight system that is set to pass right over us. If you go out on this day then find somwhere very shelterd or put up with cross shore on the north shore spots or of course the usual Angelsey crap, doubt its big enough for north Angelsey thou you might find a 2ft wave on east Angelsey. Personally I wouldn't bother. ThursdayA forcast early northwest might make a dawn raid on ceriad worth while but you would have to keep a close eye on the winds as the will return to westerlys once again but dropping force to light 5-8mph winds and then but late evening make it to southerlys and picking up speed again. Weekend ProspectsStrong possibilities of strongish SSE winds over Fri & early Sat with the tight system passing and nothng currently indicated to replace it I'd have to watch the charts to say anymore but the whole weekend should produce swell. Sat is showing a transition of wind directed as the eye passes over and thus giving us a break in wind speeds. Thanks for spring and the contnual swells. All we need to worry about this time of year is thw wind! I might not beable to update tomorrow but go by this forcast and you should be fine.

Wednesday Update:
WSW winds up to 60mph over night has wipped up some big swell up to 17ft as hoped for. Ideal once again fo the north shore. It won't be as clean as it was on wesnsday as the winds are more westerly. They will remain strong thrughout the day around 30mph. Get out for high tide which is 9:30ish fir the norh shore. remeber its two hours later for Angelsey. East angelsey might be an option also.

Thursday update: Do you know somthing, my forcasting has been spot on this week and it not normal for the systems to be so regomenged. As expected the wind have droped over us as the transition between systems takes place. Swells dropped but as the wind has it means clean wave can be found on the SW facing beaches, a good 2-3ft at high tide thismonrning but the spring tides we have had are making the tide TOO high! who would have thought. I'm hoping people managed to find wavesz yesterday. The winds had a bigger effect than i thought and many spots just wern't quite holding up Anyway, Fridays looking sweet with the SSW winds and a building swell. See you out!

Friday:
Building seas from 5ft thismorning with a increaseing SSE winds thats set in for the day. North big enough for the north shore unfortunatly but is cross/offshore for most spots on Angelsey and the corner of the mouth should hold up. I'd expect to see around 3-4ft at the mouth on the dropping tide, 2-3ft at angelsey.
Edit: Checked sands thismorning on the off chance that there would be somthing small but clean and it turned out for be sets of 3-5ft comming in. Very strange concidering it was too small for it to work in theory. Might have had somthign to do wihthe spring tides as it had dropped right off by 2pm as the tide had dropped to mid tide'ish. Hummmm! anyway was a wicked glassy session, not much punch but clean!

Sunday & Week Forcast
South wind quickly shifting to a strong weserly. Theres lots of swell about all week but the wind is west all week too. Which sucks.
Once again your goning to have to go hunting, of the swells peek above 8-10ft then its worth checking out the pwellie-abbersoch coast as they tend to be able to hold a west wind.
Eather way this HUGH system that passin to the north of the UK, well its bigger than the UK itsself so thats how big it is... is going to make it an interesting week for seeing what spots can hold up.
Best advice i can give you all is to check the swell size then a close look at the wind strength and then pick from there. Remembering that some spots max out in certain swells.

Howdie folks, Me and Em have been away in the Van the last few days so sorry for no repots. (not that you missed anything if you didn't go out!)
Today saw a heafty generally West wind with quite a chill to it and a average sized swell. Not anything to rant about.
Wednesday We've got a week of crappy period swell ahead of us and the next few days are no exception. Wed should see a dropping swell from 9-5ftish on the bouy with this chilly WNW wind taking presidence and bringing snow with it for alot of the UK. Not much to say its worth going out on but you'll find a sloppy 2-3ft at the usual shelterd angelsey spots and obvously a bit bigger at the mouth. Ceriad may just hold up enough in this wind but as its so strong i'm doubting it.
Thursday Well... What can I say, much the same as Wednesday really. except the winds beginging to drop. not worht gong out.
Prospects...
Fridays going to see a total drop in winds as the high pressuse moves over the UK from the south west. Its drawing down alot of cold air from the north (hence the forcast north winds) so its going to be cold. However, as the weekend progresses we will see some NE winds at some point. This with just enough swell could see some nice ish waves down at ceriad and tyhe mouth. Hopefully the swell will hold out before it drops.
